Samsung has launched a new feather called Samsung Gauss which is the first model of a future large on-device language model that aims to improve user experiences across Samsung.
It’s a further remarkable step by Samsung toward their ongoing quest to make breakthrough headway in artificial intelligence. The name Gauss was adopted after the highly-known mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss.
It consists of three key components.
Samsung Gauss Language
Designed to boost productivity by assisting with tasks like email composition, document summarization, and content translation. With integration into a device, it enables smarter control and interaction.
Samsung Gauss Code
These components are designed specifically for software development. This tool simplifies coding processes by offering features such as code descriptions and test case generation through an interactive interface facilitated by effiecient development workflows.
Samsung Gauss Image
A generative image model that can create and edit images, including style modifications and additions. Converting images of low-resolution to high resolution, it improves image quality to cater creative needs.

The Galaxy S24 will be the very first device that integrates Samsung Gauss. This is an important step in incorporating AI into Samsung devices. What’s more in line with industry comrades like Honor that announced similar initiatives in their smartphones on AI.
It places AI features right inside the devices to offer richer functions to their users without an additional dependence on cloud services, yet better processing speed and privacy.
This indeed becomes an indication of the trend across the industry’s shift towards on-device AI processing methods that facilitate any of the following: real-time language translations; super photography editing; and intelligent device control.
The evolution of AI does promise to have Samsung in total commitment to bringing in such advanced AI models, like Gauss, to their products, keeping abreast of development and the new user experiences it will create between man and machine.
